Advocacy Worker

Plymouth Advocacy Service

Are you ready for a new challenge? Are you passionate about providing high quality support to children, young people and their families?

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to become an Advocate in our Plymouth Advocacy Service.

Thank you for your interest in this role with Barnardo's which will involve the following.

Deliver face to face advocacy to children and young people aged 3-18
Represent the child in meetings about them either in person or virtually
Supervising a volunteer advocate

A car driver is essential for the nature of this role

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Experience working with children and young people in a professional setting.
Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and children's rights.
Ability to advocate effectively on behalf of children and young people.
Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and child-centred practice.
