Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. Duties
- Install new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes
- Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure weather-tightness and durability
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to execute projects accurately
- Operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with the installation of flashing, gutters, ventilation systems, and other roof accessories
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to safety standards at all times
Skills
- Experience with welding techniques for metal roofing or structural components
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, and measuring devices
- Knowledge of construction principles with an emphasis on roofing systems
- Ability to operate power tools including drills, saws, nail guns, and grinders safely
- Experience with fabrication processes for custom roofing components
- Strong carpentry skills for framing or structural modifications when necessary
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with roofing work
- Basic understanding of plumbing and masonry as they relate to roof drainage systems or structural supports
