We are seeking a dedicated FPV & Drone Technician to join our team. This role involves managing all technical aspects of our drone fleet to ensure the smooth and operation and maintenance of FPV systems and related components.
The role also involves travelling to live broadcasts & events around the world to oversee the technical aspects of our drone flight. This will include regular travel in Europe, Asia & USA.
Operating to our Operations Manuals, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work, you will assemble, install, and maintain FPV systems & non FPV drones in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
This will involve using hand tools / power tools to carry out repairs, adjustments, and routine maintenance tasks and does require a good level of competency with electrical systems and soldering.
You will conduct inspections of equipment to identify faults or potential issues proactively and ensure they are fit to fly before every flight.
This can involve working in time sensitive environments where the drones are being used in live broadcasts or major events.
You will also fully document maintenance activities and update system records accurately and support the team with additional technical duties as required, ensuring high standards of safety and quality are maintained at all times.
The role also includes freedom to conduct R&D design and testing, learn additional skills and qualifications.
Minimum Experience
- Good working knowledge of electrical & mechanical engineering in the context of FPV drones
- Proficiency in soldering small electronic components & PCBs
- Proficiency with power tools including drills, grinders, or similar equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent IT skills
- Full UK driving licence (manual)
- Full UK or EU passport holder with right to work in UK
Preferred Experience
- Capable FPV pilot skills in acro mode
- Previous experience designing & building FPV systems or drone technology
- A recognised qualification in engineering, electronics, or a related field
