Hotel La Tour are looking for colleagues to work in our exclusive Skybar on our Fourteenth Floor. These are casual positions, however, it will be important to be available on our busiest nights at the weekend.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assist the Restaurant and Bars Manager to always maintain a high professional standard of performance.
2. To ensure the highest standards of quality, service and customer care are maintained in the Bar areas. Guests’ needs should be anticipated whenever possible to enhance the quality of service and ultimately the guests’ satisfaction.
3. To be fully aware of the requirements and restrictions of all liquor licensing legislation and the centre’s Entertainments Licence. To ensure that all bar staff work in accordance with these laws.
4. To assist the Bars Managerto ensure bar areas are kept to a hygienic standard of cleanliness and tidiness, together with the hygienic handling of all drink and food to ensure drink and food safety.
5. To assist the Bars Manager tosupervise the work of the team, allocating special duties and responsibilities.
6. To assist the Bars Manager with the ordering of stock to meet future demands.
7. To ensure equipment is maintained in order that it remains in effective working order, with correct storage to minimise damage to any piece of equipment.
8. To report all comments/criticism to Bars Manager or member of Management on duty.
9. To ensure that all mise en place is ready for service.
10. To handle cash, issue change and use cash register in accordance with hotel policy
11. To adhere to control procedures as set by Management for the security of monies and stock.
12. To ensure that unauthorised personnel are always kept out of the bar areas.
13. To ensure that beer/lager lines are cleaned to maintain the beer/lager in a good condition, in accordance with health & safety.
14. To make all guests feel welcome and comfortable.
15. To be responsible for the setup, service and break down of any occasional bars as directed or per function sheets, drawing from stores suitable stocks for the satisfactory operation of that occasional bar, via a duplicate requisition. Recording the stock consumed either cash or account and returning the balance to stores for evaluation by the Management.
16.To ensure the Bar operates a handover diary to ensure the smooth running of the department.
17. To assist the Bars Managerin the recruitment and induction of all new Bar staff.
18. To be responsible for the safe and secure control of the Bar liquor stock, glassware and sundries.
19. To ensure all paperwork is available for stocktakes.
20. Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
21. Plan, organize, and control the operations of the lounge or bar.
22. Create drink recipes.
STAFFING
1. To take an active role as a team member, welcoming new members of staff, assisting with their training and participating fully in all on-going training initiatives.
2. As part of the larger team in maintaining the standards of the centre, to be available for any reasonable assistance you may be requested to give in other areas of the Hotel as business demands.
TRAINING
1. To attend training sessions conducted by your Head of Department.
2. To be committed to the ideas and beliefs of the Companies Living the Tour programme.
3. Your work will be assessed throughout your employment as and when deemed necessary by your supervisor, with regular six-monthly appraisals being evaluated and recorded.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. To ensure that the Company Health & Safety procedures are implemented within the department.
2. To be aware of all legislation that is relevant to your work and ensure that all legal requirements are met, including: licensing, Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health, Fire Precautions, Manual Handling and any others.
FINANCIAL
1. To assist the Bars Manger to be responsible for all stocks held in the department, its requisition, safe storage and usage to ensure proper control of costs achieved.
2. To assist the Bars Manager and ensure that all services used are correctly recorded and charged to the appropriate guest.
MARKETING AND SALES
1. Promote by personal example, give clear instructions and maintain good customer relations.
2. Monitor and be constantly aware of competitors operations.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To ensure the accuracy of all information and respect its confidentiality.
2. To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by your management team.
3. As part of the larger team involved in maintaining the standards of the hotel, to be available for any reasonable assistance you may be requested to give in other areas of the hotel as business demands.
4. To be a valued member of Team La Tour, helping and advising colleagues where required, always promoting the image of the hotel and that of the company through active sales activity and a positive approach
5. To be aware of the security of the Hotel and the people in it. Be familiar with all emergency procedures and act positively both in the event of an emergency and to prevent one.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
