The Cat Clinic in Southsea is looking for a passionate, feline-focused Veterinary Surgeon to join the team in a dedicated Saturday consulting role. If you're seeking a position where cats are truly at the heart of everything you do, this could be the perfect opportunity.

This is a permanent, Saturday-only consulting position within a busy, well-established clinic located on Southsea's vibrant high street. As a progressive first-opinion practice, the caseload is primarily routine consultations, with a strong emphasis on dentistry, making it ideal for a vet who enjoys preventative healthcare, client communication and delivering exceptional day-to-day clinical care.

Saturday-only consulting role

IDEXX in-house laboratory

Team of 2 Veterinary Surgeons and 5 RVNs

In-house ISFM Certificate expertise

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Working Pattern

Saturday consulting role

Working hours 8:00am–12:00pm

Supported by an experienced RVN and dedicated receptionist

Flexibility to work every Saturday or on a 1:2 or 1:3 rota

Opportunity to pick up weekday holiday cover if desired

No on-call responsibilities

No out-of-hours commitment

Emergencies referred to Vets Now from midday

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:

A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS

Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical cases

Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues

A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development

Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
