Full job description

Due to continued growth within the business, we are looking for a production engineer / production operator to become an essential part of our small team undertaking the primary manufacture of premium animal bedding and feed from farm grown crops within a busy working agricultural environment.

Main duties:

- To operate mechanical and industrial machinery on a daily basis as part of various processing lines on a single agricultural site.

- To work with the production manager and lead operator in ensuring the continuous running of the various production lines and in combination with the daily maintenance schedules.

- To be fully compliant with the operation and care of any mechanical and hydraulic equipment used in your duties.

- To be fully compliant with the requirement of the business’ quality control system and safe working standards.

- To be able to follow all procedures, ensuring all records are completed to company standards.

Essential skills:

- Good communication skills

- Experience in working with mechanical, agricultural &/or industrial machinery.

- Production line experience.

- Able to work well within a team.

- Punctual and good attendance.

Desirable skills:

- forklift driving experience

- Telescopic handler experience.

About the ideal candidate:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our small team. This opportunity is available for both experienced candidates and those with an engineering background who are interested in progressing to an agri / industrial business and a desire to develop their knowledge and skills in this field. We provide all necessary training and offer opportunities for career progression.

The role includes operating all individual processing jobs on various production lines and requires an organised and methodical approach to tasks. You will be required to work closely with the production manager and other members of the team. Training and guidance will be provided to operate machinery. Quality control across a variety of products is a vital part of the daily role.

This role represents growth in the business and is very much aimed at continuing the growth of our product lines. A motivated outlook, ability to think creatively and willingness to learn is essential. Although you will initially work under the production manager you will also be relied upon to show your own initiative in the absence of management and have a desire to improve performance.

Full UK Driving Licence required

40 hrs per week + potential for overtime.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year dependent on experience
