Assistant Draughtsman

Architectural Metalwork Installations Limited specialises in supplying and installing balconies, balustrading, staircases, canopies and secondary steelwork to blue chip contractors nationwide. The Company has a well-established portfolio of main contract partners that is continually growing, along with a trusted supply chain. Due to this continuing expansion we have a fantastic opportunity for an assistant draughtsman to join our existing design team in our Sheffield office. Experience of compiling manufacturing drawings for architectural metalwork industry or steelwork in general will be beneficial, but not essential.

The right candidate will have experience of AutoCAD 2013 onwards including 3d modelling will be a hardworking and ambitious individual with a keen desire to learn and progress within the industry. You will be a down to earth team player and have the ability to work under pressure and maintain output to match a design programme. You will have a keen attention to detail and excellent time management skills.

Producing detailed manufacturing fabrication drawings from project designs within the required timescales.
Aiding the manufacturing and site installation team to fully understand the fabrication drawings and answer queries as they arise.
Feedback alterations to the designs that may have a cost or programme implication to the Design Team Manager to ensure any variations are noted and dealt with accordingly.
Managing drawing issue to all parties including uploading manufacturing drawings to multi user platforms (such as conject).
