The post holder will be part of the Adult Clinical Psychology Service within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The
service provides a wide range of evidenced based psychological therapies within the geographical area of Gwent, South Wales.
There are five boroughs, each with its own CMHT provision and compromising of secondary mental health services and
liaison/inpatient supper practitioners.
The post holder will support the provision of psychological assessment and intervention. The post will involve travel across
Gwent. Assessment and intervention will be delivered by the post holder under the supervision of qualified clinical psychologists
located in secondary care.
The main duties of this role include provision of psychological assessment and intervention to community based psychology
services. This will include both individual assessment, group therapy and multi-disciplinary liaison.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The postholder will be responsible for
Undertaking some psychological interventions as delegated and supervised by a Clinical Psychologist in the Adult Mental Health
Service.
Supporting Clinical Psychologists in the Adult Mental Health Service to undertake teaching and training.
Supporting Clinical Psychologists in the Adult Mental Health Service to undertake clinically relevant research, service evaluation
and audit.
Carry out literature searches as directed by the Clinical Psychologist.
Supporting the implementation of the Borough DBT service.
Carry out other duties as agreed with Clinical Psychologists within the Adult Psychology Service.
