Skilled Wood Machinist – Furniture Manufacturing

Location: Bradford
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Wood Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in furniture production who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

About the Role

You will be responsible for setting up and operating a range of woodworking machinery to manufacture precision timber components for high-quality furniture. Working as part of a dedicated production team, you will ensure products are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate woodworking machinery including 6 cutters, spindle moulders, CNC routers, mortice and tenon machines and various saws, sanding machines and drills.
Read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
Produce high-quality timber components to precise dimensions and tolerances.
Carry out machine adjustments and routine maintenance.
Inspect finished components to ensure quality standards are met.
Work efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining excellent workmanship.
Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work area.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the production team.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Wood Machinist within a furniture manufacturing environment.
Excellent knowledge of solid timber, sheet materials, and woodworking processes.
Experience operating a variety of woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to read technical drawings and work independently.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability.
Good problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills

Experience in bespoke or high-end furniture manufacturing.
Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
