About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Sales & Estimating Manager to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for overseeing the company’s Sales Estimating and Pre-Construction functions.
The successful candidate will manage projects from initial tender enquiry through to contract award and pre-construction, ensuring a smooth transition into the construction delivery phase. This is a key leadership position that requires strong commercial awareness, technical expertise and team management capability within the roofing, cladding, façade or wider building envelope sector.
The role will also involve supporting wider business functions, including procurement and marketing, where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Sales Estimating function across the business
- Oversee the Pre-Construction process from tender stage through to project handover
- Manage bid teams and coordinate workloads effectively
- Review tender submissions prior to issue, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Ensure all tender submissions are completed on time and to a high standard
- Liaise regularly with and report to the Board of Directors
- Coordinate with internal project delivery teams to ensure effective project handover
- Attend client, supplier and project meetings as required
- Chair and organise internal meetings where necessary
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and supply chain partners
- Support the Procurement team in supply chain management and negotiations
- Lead negotiations on proposed subcontracts with clients, supported by the Board and external advisors where required
- Prepare and submit PQQs and supporting documentation
- Assist with estimating duties where required
- Maintain accurate records and reporting information
- Support continuous improvement of internal systems and processes
- Contribute to marketing and business development activities when required
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within the roofing, cladding, façade or building envelope sector
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience, including hands-on estimating involvement
- Proven experience managing bid and pre-construction teams
- Experience supporting and managing supply chain relationships
- Relevant qualifications such as HNC, Degree or NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent)
- Strong commercial, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
- A proactive approach with enthusiasm for continuous improvement and business growth
- Strong knowledge of the specialist construction sectors in which TAC Projects operates
