Hours: Mon-Thur 08:00 – 17:00, Fri 08:00 – 14:30 Based at our 4 manufacturing sites in Poole, Dorset

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To support the safe, efficient manufacture of prepreg and unidirectional (UD) materials, ensuring products are produced, inspected, packed and prepared in line with customer requirements, quality standards and internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate prepreg and UD production machines in line with work instructions
Load and change rolls of fabric, paper and polymer films
Mix resins accurately and safely in accordance with approved procedures
Pack and label finished products, ensuring correct identification and traceability
Carry out visual inspection of prepreg and UD materials during production
Complete quality inspection of prepreg samples as required
Maintain a clean, safe and organised production area and manage waste correctly
Prepare materials and equipment ready for the next production day
Support compliance with customer quality requirements and ISO 9001 standards
Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
Report defects, near misses and process issues promptly

You are expected to work with the minimum supervision and may be expected to deal with other duties as appropriate to your skill set and ability. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
Understanding of the need to follow work instructions, procedures and quality standards
Awareness of health, safety and housekeeping requirements in an industrial setting
Ability to carry out routine visual checks and inspections
Reliable, team‑focused approach with strong attention to detail

Desirable:

Experience in composites, prepreg or related materials
Experience working to ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
Experience working with resins, chemicals or controlled materials
Experience undertaking quality checks or basic inspection activities
Experience preparing materials or equipment for production

Qualifications

Essential:

Willingness to undertake role‑specific and safety training

Desirable:

Vocational qualification in manufacturing, engineering or materials
Health & Safety or COSHH‑related training
Forklift or materials‑handling certification

Technical / Practical Skills

Essential:

Ability to operate production equipment following training
Manual handling capability, including loading and changing rolls of material
Ability to mix materials accurately following defined procedures
Competence in packing and labelling products correctly
Ability to maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
Willingness to carry out visual inspection of products

Desirable:

Experience operating prepreg or other line-related machinery
Experience handling fabrics, films or rolled materials
Experience mixing resins or other chemicals
Familiarity with batch control, traceability or production records
Experience managing production waste and recycling streams
Experience completing quality inspection or sample checks
