We need a well organised Store Supervisor who is experienced in warehouse operations to manage our warehouse team in our Greenwich Store until 31st December 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The Store Supervisor supports the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the store. He/she conducts themself in a professional manner conducive to generating and maintaining a positive team attitude, excellent customer relationships, and consistent and complete compliance with Company Policies and Procedures. The Store Supervisor takes a lead day-to-day role in overseeing store operations and performs operational, customer service, inventory, and administrative duties as required, either personally or through team members.
General:
- Support the daily operation of the store to ensure the smooth, efficient performance of the store and the achievement of operational targets.
- Supervise and participate in customer assistance, customer sales, local purchasing, quoting, quote follow up and invoicing, product sourcing, and material handling activities ensuring consistent and professional standards are maintained.
Sales/Customer Service:
- Overseeing the onboarding of new local customers and assisting the National Accounts Salesperson with onboarding of national and regional accounts as required.
- Provide consistent, superior customer service.
- Assist our walk-in customers to find what they need being polite and professional.
Human Resources:
- Plan, prepare, and manage work schedules, holiday requests, and overtime in line with operational requirements.
- Support recruitment activities for approved store-level positions in conjunction with Head Office.
- Provide leadership and guidance to store staff by establishing clear performance expectations and standards.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and training to team members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide input to senior management as required.
- Assist Head Office staff in maintaining appropriate employee training records to ensure staff have the required skills and certifications to perform their duties.
Store Operations:
- Oversee stock control and management processes in compliance with approved inventory policies and procedures, including receiving, storage, distribution, and accurate stock counts and record keeping.
- Assist the Purchasing and Logistic Manager with the bulk purchasing programme and store spot buys as required.
- Assist in monitoring store expenses and maintaining timely and accurate records.
- Supervise the efficient use of materials, equipment, and staff resources within the store.
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety procedures, including training staff in safe working practices.
- Ensure proper maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be well organised, focused, with supervisory experience, and will be responsible for the Store including making decisions acting on your own initiative alongside guidance, policies and procedures, training and liaising with Management where needed. You will command respect from your team with excellent communication skills whilst assisting them where necessary and have the following knowledge, skill and/or ability:
- Able to multi-task, establish priorities and manage conflict
- Able to recognise problems, review data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
- Experience is required in warehouse stock management and daily operations
- Current Counterbalance Forklift licence required
- Category B Manual Driving Licence is required
- Computer proficiency including MS Office, fluent in written and spoken English, strong maths skills
- First Aid At Work certificate would be beneficial
- Experience on a Trade Counter would be beneficial
You will be a good people manager who is confident, assertive, focussed, organised and adheres to rules and procedures. Good attendance and time-keeping are also required.
What We Offer:
- Competitive hourly rate £16.03/hr, equivalent to £33,342pa pro rata
- Working hours are 7.00am-4.00pm Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)
