Full job description

We are looking for an outgoing and driven Depot Assistant to join our growing team. Are you a people person with a background in fast paced environments, hydraulics, and sales, looking for a new opportunity in the area, where no two days will ever be the same? If so, this could be the role for you.

The ideal candidate will have previously worked in the hydraulics or similar industry and will have the ability to ensure excellent customer service, and support achieving business objectives. You will be responsible for supporting the Warehouse Coordinator and Branch Manager. Working within our Avonmouth branch within the warehouse to oversee daily operations and foster a positive work environment.

Interpump Fluid Solutions (formally known as I.M.M. Hydraulics, and Bristol Hose) is the UK's One Source manufacturer of certified and compatible fluid power products and services. Boasting world class manufacturing sites, global distribution and 24/7 breakdown support, you will become part of the expanding team.

We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude who thrives on a fast-paced environment, whilst maintaining high quality standards, and can support our growing business. You will be given training on our products but will be expected to have good customer service and the ability to build rapport and support a team. You will be building on existing relations, and providing support for hydraulic hose, ancillary parts, and our 24/7 engineering service.

As a Depot Assistant in Avonmouth you will be working on a full-time basis, to handle a wide range of administrative and sales support related tasks. You will be dealing with customers and assisting with their queries about our products.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

Servicing customers via phone, email, and trade counter.
Arranging deliveries via courier or delivery vehicle.
Picking from specified locations, cutting loose coils of hydraulic hose, accurately as per customer orders.
Pack and consolidate consignments into appropriate containers, pallets and coils, and label accurately for shipping.
Prepare and assemble parts and hoses to customer specifications following the relevant paperwork and procedures.
Maximising spends from clients and upselling of suitable products and fittings.
General administration duties, and teams support as required.

As the Depot Assistant you should have the following skills, qualifications, and competencies:

Excellent communication skills, customer service, and rapport building.
Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience preferred.
Full UK driving license.
Knowledge of H&S and PPE.
Team player with a can-do attitude, ability to prioritise, organise, work at a fast pace and multi-task.
Computer literate with MS Office (other in-house software will be required for use).
FLT C/B is advantageous.
