Full job description

We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Butcher / Meat Cutter to join our team at our busy retail shop. We are looking for someone who is confident in preparing, cutting and portioning a variety of meats while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, dependable and comfortable working in a customer-facing retail environment.

Key Responsibilities -

Cut, trim, debone, slice and portion different types of meat - Prepare meat according to customer requirements - Use knives, meat saws, mincers and other butchery equipment safely - Prepare and maintain an attractive meat display - Ensure products are fresh, correctly stored and properly labelled - Maintain excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards - Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures - Assist with stock rotation and storage - Minimise waste through accurate cutting and portioning - Serve customers and provide a friendly, professional service - Keep counters, equipment and preparation areas clean and organised Requirements - Previous experience as a Butcher, Meat Cutter or similar role is preferred - Good knife skills and knowledge of different meat cuts - Experience with deboning, trimming and portioning meat - Good understanding of food hygiene and safe meat handling - Ability to work efficiently in a busy shop environment - Reliable, punctual and hardworking - Good communication and customer service skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer - Competitive pay based on experience - Stable working hours - Friendly working environment - Long-term employment opportunity - Opportunity to grow with the business.
