Job Title: Vocational Services Lead

Contract: Fixed Term (12 Months)

Hours: Full-time (Must be flexible to work across Monday to Sunday)

Salary: Up to £32,000 Per Annum

You must hold a valid UK Driving License for this role.

Role Overview

You will lead and coordinate vocational, recreational and wellbeing activities across multiple services in South Wales, working closely with the Therapies Team. You will support Activity Coordinators in our homes to deliver high‑quality, creative and engaging experiences that enhance quality of life for the people we support. This role requires a bright, confident and energetic person who enjoys being hands‑on, getting involved and bringing fun, connection and creativity into everyday life. Travel is essential, and you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. Flexibility is required across a 7‑day rota.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, support and motivate Activity Coordinators across multiple services to deliver meaningful, person‑centred activities.
Plan, organise and oversee regular events, themed days, celebrations and community‑based experiences.
Coordinate and supervise external trips including dining experiences, leisure activities, shopping, cinema visits and community engagement.
Develop creative ideas for activities, adapting them to meet individual needs, abilities and preferences.
Support the development of vocational opportunities such as woodwork, craft sessions, gardening and skill‑building projects.
Complete risk assessments for activities, events, environments and community outings.
Liaise with community venues, suppliers and partners to arrange bookings, events and opportunities.
Ensure environments are adapted to maximise participation, comfort and enjoyment for the people we support.
Maintain clear communication with the Therapies Team, Home Managers and wider colleagues to ensure activities align with individual support plans.
Monitor activity quality, gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support Activity Coordinators with planning, time management and creative problem‑solving.
Promote a culture of fun, inclusion, confidence and positive energy across all services.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Experience coordinating activities, events or wellbeing programmes in a care, education or community setting.
Strong people skills with the ability to motivate, guide and support teams.
Creative thinker with the confidence to try new ideas and bring energy to group settings.
Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across multiple services.
Ability to complete risk assessments and plan safe, structured activities.
Confident using digital tools for planning, communication and reporting.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Flexible to work across 7 days depending on service needs.

Desirable

Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, ABI or mental health needs.
Experience delivering group activities, events or community programmes.
Knowledge of sensory engagement, therapeutic activities or vocational skill‑building.
Experience working across multiple sites.
