Job Summary

Marina la Cucina in Porthmadog is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter for the 2026 season to support our team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and providing a high standard of hygiene and safety. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality and its sectors, particularly those with an interest in food preparation and restaurant service.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff
Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet health and safety standards
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently and promptly
Help with the organisation of stock and ingredients, ensuring items are stored correctly
Support with waste disposal and recycling procedures to maintain a tidy working environment
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary practices is advantageous
Experience working in busy kitchens or catering environments will be beneficial
Familiarity with serving or hospitality roles can enhance performance in this position
