Full job description

Our Nursery Assistants support children to engage in a range of play and learning opportunities and to participate in the day to day activities within the nursery.

You will have passion and enthusiasm for safeguarding children and delivering high standards of care.

Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children
A passion and enthusiasm for childcare
Great communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
Good timekeeping, organisation and reliability.

£28,000 Salary - Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

We also have 4 Day Week contracts available - 32 hours with a salary of £22397.44 or 36 hours with a salary of £25,200

To provide and maintain a high quality service to children working as part of a staff team to meet children’s individual needs.
To develop and maintain positive relationships with children and families.
To work within the EYFS and promote high standards of care for the children.
To maintain children’s safety and wellbeing at all times during attendance at the play setting and on trips to external facilities.
To take any action required to ensure the safety and welfare of children and to report any concern immediately to the Nursery Manager.
To work as a positive role model and member of the staff team.
To know the nurseries policies and procedures, work within them at all times and to support other staff to adhere to them.
To represent the setting professionally at all times, maintaining the settings integrity and being open to giving and receiving feedback.

Desirable

A paediatric First Aid certificate

Essential

Ability to adhere to policies and procedures
Sufficient understanding and use of English
Ability to work as a team member and organise own workload
Ability to be a reflective team member in order to develop your practice
Ability to communicate effectively with all children, staff and families
Ability to support an environment which is inclusive for all and encourages diversity.

Desirable

Ability to plan, provide and evaluate a wide range of play and learning opportunities which meet children’s individual needs

Essential

Experience of working with children aged under 5.
Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children.

Desirable

Experience of supporting children with additional needs.

Experience of liaising with parent’s / carers and involving them in their child’s care.
