Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Prescription Clerk to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with prescription processing, providing excellent patient service, and supporting pharmacy operations. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Verify prescription details and ensure all information complies with legal and safety standards
- Greet patients courteously, answer queries, and provide guidance on prescription procedures
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed and patient interactions
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as needed
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy workspace
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including infection control measures
- Support medication administration processes where applicable, ensuring patient safety at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in medication administration is preferred
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with a friendly and professional manner towards patients
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems is advantageous
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection standards
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy assistance or healthcare support are desirable
