Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining high standards of food safety, and managing staff effectively. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and extensive experience within hospitality or restaurant environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to bring creativity and organisation to a thriving establishment.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth operational flow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
Manage daily kitchen activities, including scheduling staff shifts and delegating responsibilities
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
Train and mentor junior staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and customer service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
Develop innovative menus that reflect current trends whilst catering to dietary requirements and customer preferences
Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing a diverse team of kitchen staff
Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in food production, menu development, and inventory control
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with staff and suppliers
Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background highly desirable
A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences through innovative cuisine and outstanding service

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
