Full job description

Sherborne Castle Estates

Assistant Accountant – AAT Level 3

We are looking for a full time Assistant Accountant to join our accounting team and assist with a range of finance responsibilities in multiple entity accounts.

Duties and responsibilities:-

· Submitting information to payroll bureau (timesheets etc)

· Preparation and submission of VAT returns (10 quarterly)

· Raising rent demands and processing rent reviews (total no. of tenancies 600, raising approx. 400 demands monthly with an extra 100 in March & September and 100 raised annually)

· Undertake credit control – debt chasing, query resolution, issuing copy invoices and sending statements

· Monthly direct debit rent collections (approx. 130)

· Monthly job costing for the maintenance team to relevant entities

· Quarterly admin, overheads, and properties connected charges between entities

· Raising sales invoices on an ad-hoc basis

Skills required:-

· Minimum AAT Level 3

· Had previous experience in a similar position

· Able to prioritise workload and has good time management skills

· Flexible, willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities as required

· Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel

· Good attention to detail, highly organised and reliable

· Excellent telephone manner, inter-personal and communication skills

Benefits and information for the role of Assistant Accountant:-

· £28k - £32.k p.a. depending on qualification and experience

· Permanent

· Mon-Fri 08:30 – 17:00 with 1 hour for lunch (37.5 hours per week)

· Office based in Sherborne

· Holiday 22 days plus regular bank holidays

· Workplace pension

· Eligible to join the Company’s Health Scheme with Westfield Health
