Fire compartmentation: certified fire‑door installation, repair and maintenance, as well as compartmentation schemes and installation of fire‑detection and suppression systems.
Job Purpose
The purpose of the Fire Stopper role is to carry out high‑quality passive fire‑protection works across our projects, ensuring all installations meet regulatory, manufacturer, and client requirements. You will be responsible for installing fire‑stopping systems, maintaining compliance, and supporting the delivery of safe and effective fire‑compartmentation works within occupied and unoccupied properties. This position requires strong practical knowledge of fire‑stopping systems, cavity barriers, penetration sealing, and Firefly installations.
Main Duties
- Install fire‑stopping systems including penetration seals, cavity barriers, and Firefly systems.
- Ensure all works comply with manufacturer guidelines, fire‑safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Work within occupied social housing properties with professionalism and respect.
- Record completed works accurately, including photographic evidence and documentation.
- Liaise with site managers, project managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment at all times.
- Follow company procedures and contribute to high standards of quality and safety across all projects.
Person Specification
- Certified Fire Stopper or Firefly Installer.
- Relevant NVQ qualification in passive fire protection or cavity‑barrier installation.
- Proven experience in fire‑stopping installations.
- Experience working within social housing environments is highly desirable.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
- Strong understanding of fire‑safety compliance and UK building regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
