Location: Higher Walton, Preston
Salary: National Minimum Wage
Contract: 25 Hours Per Week, Permanent
Start date: Immediate

The role

As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll support day‑to‑day warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

Receive, check, and put away inbound stock, completing all relevant documentation accurately.
Pick, pack, and label customer orders.
Load and unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment.
Book relevant courier orders onto system
Conduct stock counts, cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies.
Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet trucks; forklifts if licensed) in line with safety procedures.
Keep work areas clean and hazard‑free.
Follow all H&S guidelines, reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
Support ad‑hoc tasks to meet operational needs.
Local Delivery - (Clean Driving licence is required)
Serve walk in customers
Maintain tidy yard

What we’re looking for

Previous warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience is preferred (not essential for the right candidate).
Comfortable with manual handling and being on your feet for most of the shift.
Strong attention to detail with good numeracy and basic IT skills.
A team player with a positive attitude and reliable timekeeping.
Flexibility to work occasional overtime or shifts during peak periods.
Forklift licence is desirable but not essential—training can be provided.
