About the Role
Are you passionate about delivering great customer service? We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive Night Customer Sales Assistant to join our team at Shell New Hall Lane Services, a busy petrol filling station and convenience store.
You’ll be the welcoming face of the site during the night shift, helping customers with fuel and shop purchases, keeping the store clean and stocked, and ensuring the forecourt remains safe. If you enjoy working independently, staying organised, and creating a positive experience for every customer, this role is a great fit.
Night shifts run from 22:00 – 06:00.
What You’ll Be Doing Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and offer helpful, professional service
- Assist with fuel transactions and shop purchases
- Handle queries and escalate issues when needed
Till & Sales
- Operate the till accurately (cash and card)
- Promote offers and upsell where appropriate
- Ensure correct pricing and scanning of products
Forecourt Duties
- Monitor fuel pumps and ensure safe customer use
- Keep the forecourt clean and hazard‑free
- Carry out regular checks and report issues to the manager
Store Standards (Night Shift)
- Replenish shelves and fridges
- Rotate stock and remove expired items
- Maintain cleanliness across the shop floor, backroom, and restrooms
- Complete nightly cleaning tasks ready for the morning team
Health & Safety
- Follow all fuel‑handling and forecourt safety procedures
- Complete age‑restricted sales in line with legal requirements
- Maintain awareness of emergency and security procedures
