Sumison Ltd, is one of the UK’s growing online retailers of premium door handles, ironmongery, and interior hardware. We supply customers across multiple online marketplaces and e-commerce platforms, with a strong focus on quality products and excellent customer service.
As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Quality Control Specialist to join our team.
The Role
This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining product quality standards across our incoming stock, packaging, warehouse operations, and customer fulfilment processes.
You will play a key role in ensuring products meet our quality expectations before reaching customers, whilst also helping improve operational standards and reducing defects, damages, and returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out quality inspections on incoming shipments and stock
- Check products for finish quality, sizing accuracy, functionality, and packaging standards
- Identify manufacturing defects and report issues clearly
- Work closely with suppliers and management regarding product quality improvements
- Monitor warehouse packing standards and dispatch quality
- Conduct random order checks before shipment
- Help reduce customer complaints and return rates
- Maintain organised quality control records and reporting
- Assist with developing and improving QC procedures and systems
- Ensure products meet UK and marketplace quality expectations
Requirements
- Previous experience in Quality Control, Warehouse QA, Manufacturing QA, or similar role
- Strong attention to detail
- Organised and methodical approach to work
- Good communication skills
- Ability to identify product defects and inconsistencies
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse/e-commerce environment
- Competent with spreadsheets and basic computer systems
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude
Preferred (Not Essential)
- Experience in e-commerce or retail fulfilment
- Experience with hardware, ironmongery, furniture fittings, or similar products
- Knowledge of Amazon/eBay marketplace standards
