Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated member of Cafe Staff to join our team predominately on weekends but could give a weekday too if desired. The ideal candidate will also be required to work out with the cafe making and labelling our products on the same premises as well as tasking other members of staff to do so. We already have a good team of young weekend staff so looking for someone with experience in the world of work who's happy to take charge when needed , set tasks and keep on top of things at the weekends. We are a small family run business so we are looking for a positive and committed staff member to stay with us long term and help our business grow.

We are looking for a member of staff to do around 8-12 hours a week . Someone able to do more hours for holiday/ sick cover is desired but not essential .Hours may vary slightly week to week and we are flexible and happy to accommodate other commitments . Ideally need to be available during the core hours of 8.30- 3.30 on weekends. Weekday availability is desired but not essential. We are a small tight knit team so candidates need to be reliable and punctual with a good attitude to work.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
Assist in food preparation including using a grill to heat up toasties and paninis as well as plating up cakes and traybakes , ensuring quality and presentation meet our cafe's standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
Make a range of drinks including using the coffee machine (Training will be provided)
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction at all times.
Handle cash and till transactions swiftly and accurately.
Set tasks for other staff members

Requirements

Full Training will be provided so prior cafe experience isn't necessary but applicants must willing and eager to learn.
Knowledge of food safety practices is desirable.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team environment and use your own initiative.
A proactive attitude towards helping customers and colleagues alike.
Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Pride and care in your work is essential.
Must be able to accurately deal with cash transactions
Must be able to write orders down clearly and correctly
