Buckhurst Plant Hire specialise in the hiring of self-drive and operated plant to major Utility, Building and Civil Engineering Companies on a National basis. Our Rossendale depot is looking to employ a Yard Operative reporting directly to the Depot Manager.
Job Details:
- Assist with the safe loading, unloading, and movement of plant, machinery, and vehicles around the yard
- Organise and store equipment and materials in a neat and accessible manner
- Support the workshop and transport teams with vehicle and equipment preparation
- Perform routine yard cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a tidy and safe working environment
- Conduct basic inspections of plant and equipment and report any visible damage or faults
- Support the valeting and washbay team as required
- Assist with stock and parts deliveries, including checking and storing incoming goods
- Follow all health & safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Use yard equipment such as forklifts or telehandlers if qualified (training can be provided)
- Help with paperwork related to yard activities when necessary
Key Skills & Experience:
- Be reactive and punctual at all times.
- Experience in contractors plant, agricultural equipment and associated attachments, repair and maintenance is desirable but not essential.
- Full UK Driving license is essential.
