Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of metal fabrication and assembly, demonstrating proficiency in welding and the use of various tools. This role requires a commitment to safety and quality, as well as the ability to work collaboratively on construction sites.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications.
Perform welding tasks using stick welding techniques and other methods as required.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and join materials.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

Qualifications

Proven experience in ironworking or a related field is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in welding techniques, particularly stick welding, is essential.
Familiarity with sheet metal work is advantageous.
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations are required.
Ability to effectively use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
