Overview

Buckinghamshire Libraries are looking for a Library Resources Officer to join our friendly team in the Princes Risborough Library. We are seeking people who share our focus on customer service and who would enjoy engaging people with services that can enrich their lives.

The salary advertised is the grade level for the role, the salary for this role will be pro-rata to 23.75 hours hours per week.

About the role

This is a customer-facing role which will require you to be present at a specific site location each day, there will also be a need for travel to libraries across Buckinghamshire.

This is a part-time role of 23.75 hours per week. The working pattern is as follows:

Mondays - X

Tuesdays - 9.00 – 5.00

Wednesdays - 9.30 – 1.00

Thursdays - 9.30 – 5.00

Fridays - 9.30 – 2.30

Alternate Saturdays - 9.30 – 1.00

Sundays - X

Saturdays will be worked on an alternating basis (one week on, one week off).

Fixed

As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.

About you

We are looking for somebody passionate about libraries and the role they can play in transforming the lives of children, young people and families, and who is keen to promote wellbeing in the community by combating loneliness and social exclusion.

If you're brilliant at helping customers with enquiries, with skills to promote and help access to digital services, and you’re keen to develop the library as a community hub with access to information, then we want to hear from you.

You should also have experience in supervision and supporting staff or volunteers in delivering professional and knowledgeable customer service to residents and visitors.
