Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, assisting with food preparation, and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety within our establishment. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced hospitality setting and eager to develop their culinary skills.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers.
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and ensuring all necessary items are ready for service.
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans promptly and efficiently.
Ensure all work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas are kept hygienic and organised in accordance with health and safety standards.
Help with the organisation of stock, including receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately.
Support serving staff during busy periods by providing assistance with food plating or clearing tables if required.
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members.

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures is desirable.
Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or similar hospitality environments is a plus.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities for success in this role.
Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
