Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanic and MOT Tester, where your expertise will keep vehicles running smoothly and safely on the road. This energetic role offers the opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment, ensuring vehicles meet all safety and emissions standards through thorough testing and repairs. We’re looking for motivated individuals who thrive on problem-solving, precision, and delivering top-quality service to our customers. Your hands-on work will be vital in maintaining vehicle safety, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns.
Perform repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal standards to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental requirements.
Use heavy lifting equipment safely to move engines, tires, or other vehicle components as needed.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and test results for each vehicle serviced.
Assist customers by explaining repair needs and providing professional advice on vehicle maintenance.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
Experience with power tools for efficient repair work.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and handle physically demanding tasks regularly.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections and precise repairs.
Good communication skills for interacting effectively with team members and customers.
Valid certification for MOT testing is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is a plus.

Essential requirements

Minimum Level 3 Mechanic and MOT tester
Minimum 10 years experience in this field
