Directorate
The University of Bradford Library is currently recruiting for a Special Collections and Archives Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Special Collections team, and be part of the busy, forward looking and friendly university library team based on the Bradford University campus, a few minutes’ walk from the city centre in the J.B. Priestley Library. Special Collections is a nationally accredited archive service and provides research opportunities for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
What you will be doing:

You will provide support to the University Archivist with the management, auditing and use of the varied collections.

You will carry out research for University events and publicity, including the University’s 60th anniversary.

You will research and respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
-
You will undertake a wide range of archival duties including document retrieval and repackaging and relocation of collections.

You will check, upload and approve content of the University’s art collection on to the Museums Data Service website.

You will create collection level descriptions of archive collections to be added to various discovery platforms.
Qualifications/ experience:

GCSE English and Maths.

Degree in librarianship or archive administration, or equivalent level of experience.
