About the Job
An exciting opportunity has become available at Wybone for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team.
This is a varied and hands on role that will suit a highly organised and proactive individual with experience in purchasing, stock control, stores management or supply chain operations. Working closely alongside the Purchasing & Stores Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and stock are managed efficiently, supplier relationships are maintained and our stores operation runs smoothly to support the business needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing activities, inventory management, supplier performance monitoring and maintaining accurate records, while also identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
The role will include
- Manage purchasing activities including stock replenishment, purchase order processing, goods receipt, inspection, booking-in, stock adjustments and accurate record keeping.
- Support the Purchasing & Stores Manager with supplier performance management, evaluations, KPI monitoring, supply issue resolution, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Review purchasing processes and procedures, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and best practice.
- Maintain accurate supplier, stock, pricing, contract and purchasing records, ensuring data integrity through regular audits.
- Ensure compliance with goods receipt and inspection procedures, including delivery documentation, invoice reconciliation and invoice approvals.
- Oversee the day to day operation of the Stores department, including loading and despatch areas, external storage facilities and recycling areas.
- Ensure stock is stored, controlled, rotated and issued efficiently to support production requirements while minimising obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
- Conduct regular stock checks and support company stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy and valuation.
- Maintain accurate records of all stock movements and ensure appropriate stores security/access is in place at all times.
- Work closely with the Despatch & Logistics Coordinator to support efficient goods despatch, stakeholder communication and vehicle loading activities when required.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues, ensuring timely communication and accurate supply chain information.
- Manage the company's PPE ordering process and maintain accurate records to support health and safety compliance.
About You
- Previous experience in a purchasing, stores, warehouse, inventory, or supply chain role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience of stock control, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Good IT skills and experience using Sage 200 and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of supplier management and supply chain processes.
- Forklift Truck licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Highly motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
