Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Telehandler Operator to join our construction and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers efficiently and safely across various sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, commercial driving experience, and familiarity with excavators. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while developing your skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Operate telehandlers to lift, move, and position materials accurately on construction sites or warehouses
Conduct routine inspections of the equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness
Assist with loading and unloading materials using the telehandler, ensuring proper securing of loads
Coordinate with site managers and team members to facilitate smooth workflow and project timelines
Maintain detailed records of daily operations, inspections, and maintenance activities
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during operations
Support with basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs when necessary
Assist with the operation of excavators or other heavy machinery as required

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly operating telehandlers in a construction or industrial setting
Strong mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and identify potential issues
Familiarity with operating excavators is desirable but not essential
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for safety checks and documentation
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and site supervisors
Valid certification for operating telehandlers; additional licences for excavators are advantageous
