Position Title: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

Working autonomously within your scope of practice, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care while supporting service development and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and long-term conditions.
Prescribe medications independently in accordance with current legislation and local guidelines.
Order and interpret diagnostic investigations.
Develop and implement treatment plans and provide health promotion advice.
Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and other services.
Maintain accurate clinical records.
Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support and mentor nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
Independent Non-Medical Prescriber qualification.
Demonstrated competence in autonomous clinical assessment and decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable Criteria

Experience using electronic patient record systems such as EMIS Web
Significant post-registration experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency settings
