Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bursar to oversee the financial operations of our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting overall financial health. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in financial management to contribute to organisational efficiency and integrity.

Duties

Manage and maintain accurate payroll records using Sage software.
Reconcile bank statements and maintain general income/expenditure accuracy.
Prepare financial reports, statements, and budgets for the Board of Trustees and external audits.
Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to support organisational planning.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies.
Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Oversee the invoice and booking system for parent's fees

Skills

Proven experience in financial management within a similar organisation or institution.
Proficiency in accounting record keeping.
Strong understanding of accounts payable procedures and general income/expenditure management.
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to manage own workload.
Ability to analyse financial data accurately and prepare reports for Trustees.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written to liaise effectively with staff teams and external auditors.

This position is integral to maintaining the organisation’s fiscal health, requiring a dedicated professional with strong technical skills in accounting and financial management practices.

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
