Job Function:
To support the Innovation Services team in maintaining and improving regulatory, COSHH, and technical information systems by assisting with the consolidation, organisation, and accurate entry of chemical, ingredient, and safety data into a centralised database. The role will involve working with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), and related technical documentation to ensure information is correctly captured and maintained within company databases and templates.
The post holder will ensure the relevant ingredient/material information can be easily accessed by the LIS team members to complete the required COSHH and risk assessment prior to laboratory work.. The role will also contribute to process improvement activities by supporting the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, checklists, and process flowcharts.
Working across Innovation Services, Quality, Regulatory, and Technical teams, the role provides exposure to regulated systems and data management processes while supporting data accuracy, documentation consistency, and continuous improvement activities that contribute to safe and compliant innovation
Abilities and Skills
- Interest in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or laboratory-based environments.
- Basic understanding or willingness to learn about COSHH principles and chemical safety.
- Ability to follow structured guidance to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and related technical documents.
- Awareness of basic chemical hazard concepts (training provided).
Data & Digital Skills
- Competent use of Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic filtering, table formatting).
- Willingness to learn and use Smartsheet or similar database/workflow tools.
- Ability to input, organise, and check data accurately.
- Strong attention to detail when handling structured information
Analytical Skills
- Ability to follow instructions to extract key information from technical documents.
- Developing ability to identify missing or inconsistent data.
- Logical and methodical approach to tasks involving data entry or classification.
- Interest in learning how technical and regulatory information is structured.

Pay: Up to £26,000.00 per year
