Experienced Bathroom Installer / Tiler / Multi-Trade Operative

£135–£155 per day depending on experience

Cheshire Bathrooms & Electrical is a highly rated family-run business specialising in high-quality bathroom refurbishments throughout South Birmingham.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Bathroom Installer / Multi-Trade Operative to join our team.
This is not a labouring position and is not suitable for apprentices or trainees.
We are looking for someone with existing experience in bathroom refurbishment work who can work independently, take pride in their workmanship, and become a key member of a small, professional team.
About the Role
You will work alongside the business owner and an existing trainee, helping to deliver complete bathroom refurbishment projects from rip-out through to completion.
The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently on many aspects of a project, allowing multiple jobs to progress simultaneously.
Typical Duties
- Bathroom rip-outs and preparation work
- Studwork and plasterboarding
- Plywood flooring installation
- Tanking and waterproofing systems
- Wall and floor tiling
- Silicone finishing
- Basic plumbing alterations
- Installation of shower trays, baths, toilets and basins
- Basic carpentry and finishing work
- Painting and decorating
- Site organisation and maintaining a clean working environment
- Material handling and deliveries where required
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working on bathroom refurbishment projects
- Strong wall and floor tiling experience is essential
- Experience with plasterboarding and bathroom preparation work
- Good understanding of general construction methods
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own reliable vehicle and ability to travel independently to project locations throughout South Birmingham
- Own hand tools
- Own power tools preferred
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Physically capable of carrying out the duties associated with bathroom installation work, including lifting materials, working in confined spaces, accessing lofts, kneeling, bending and working in restricted areas when required
Applicants without bathroom tiling experience are unlikely to be considered for this role.
Applicants must have their own transport to travel to and from project locations.

What We’re Looking For
We are not necessarily looking for someone who can complete an entire bathroom project completely alone.
We are looking for someone who is highly competent in the core elements of bathroom installation and refurbishment and who can become a trusted member of the team.
Whilst experience is important, we are equally interested in finding somebody who is willing to learn our systems, methods and standards rather than being set in their ways.

Pay & Progression
£135–£155 per day depending on experience and ability.
Initially, the role will be offered on a trial basis for approximately 2–3 days per week.
The successful candidate will work alongside the business owner and existing team members to demonstrate their skills, reliability, workmanship and suitability for the role.
Following a successful trial period, the position has the potential to progress into a more permanent arrangement with increased working days and responsibility.
