Client Portfolio Manager
ATF Accountancy, Norwich (NR3) | £38,000 - £45,000| Full time | Office based with hybrid option
ATF Accountancy is a growing practice in the centre of Norwich, looking after small limited companies, sole traders, landlords and personal tax clients. We are looking for an experienced and genuinely likeable Client Portfolio Manager to become a trusted face of the practice and help us grow.
This is a varied role with real ownership. In the early months, while your client book is building, you will be hands on with the accounts and tax returns for your own clients, while also getting out to meet prospects and win new business. Bookkeeping, VAT and payroll are handled by our delivery team from day one, so you are free to focus on the work that needs your judgement and on the relationships that clients value most. As your portfolio grows, the delivery team takes on more of the production work too.
The early focus is on growth. You will be meeting prospects, running sales conversations and getting out to local networking events to put ATF on the map. As your client book builds, the balance shifts towards managing those relationships and making sure clients see us as advisers who genuinely help their business, not just a firm that files their accounts.
What you will be doing
Meeting prospective clients and running sales meetings that turn interest into signed clients
Attending local networking events, particularly in the early months, to build ATF's profile
Managing your own portfolio of clients as their main point of contact
Preparing accounts and tax returns for your own clients, particularly in the early months
Spotting the moments where good advice makes a real difference to a client
Working alongside our delivery team, who handle bookkeeping, VAT and payroll, so client work is produced accurately and on time
Keeping clients informed and queries answered clearly, whether in writing or on the phone
What we are looking for
At least 5 years of experience in UK practice dealing directly with clients
The right attitude above all, open minded, willing to learn and quick to adapt as the practice grows
A warm, approachable manner and the confidence to win people over
Comfortable and confident with technology, since we run a modern, largely paperless practice
Genuinely at home with cloud accounting software such as Xero, FreeAgent, QuickBooks or Sage, and quick to pick up new tools
A solid technical grounding across accounts, corporation tax, VAT and self assessment
AAT, ACCA or ACA qualified
Well organised, reliable and a clear communicator
What you get
£38,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
Full time, based at our Sackville Place office in central Norwich, with hybrid flexibility once settled in
Pension and holiday
A friendly practice where you have real ownership of your clients and room to grow with us
Start date: 1 October 2026
Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
