The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Chef de Partie / Sous Chef to support the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This is a key leadership role for someone who is confident managing service, leading by example, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations, strong team performance, and consistently high-quality food.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management
- Leading service and ensuring smooth operation during busy periods
- Running the kitchen confidently in the Head Chef’s absence
- Preparing and delivering high-quality fresh food to specification
- Training, motivating, and developing junior chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health, and safety standards
- Assisting with stock ordering, stock control, and GP management
- Helping develop menus, specials, and seasonal dishes
- Ensuring consistency, presentation, and portion control at all times
- Maintaining a positive and professional kitchen culture
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior CDP or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
- Passion for fresh food and attention to detail
- Good understanding of kitchen financials and stock management
- High standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods
