Job Overview

We are seeking a Cover Chef to join our team, providing school meal services during school hours in Northamptonshire. If you get bored staying in one place then this role is for you!

As a Cover Chef, you will cover where ever needed, ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards, adhering to food safety regulations, and delivering a positive dining experience for students.

You will cover a variety of schools across Northamptonshire (mileage covered)

You must be able to drive.

You may have to cover an assistants role or a chefs role dependant on the job that needs covering.

Duties

Prepare and cook meals in accordance with our specifications and health & safety standards
Manage kitchen operations during school hours, including overseeing food serving and maintaining cleanliness
Ensure all food safety protocols are followed rigorously, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
Maintain accurate records of food inventory, waste management, and daily kitchen activities
Skills
Must have cooking experience, full training will be given.
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead effectively under pressure
Extensive kitchen experience with knowledge of culinary practices and food safety standards
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and serve students efficiently
Familiarity with school catering experience is advantageous
A DBS is required, we will apply for this for you.

Pay: £12.81 per hour
