Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Specialist to join our Orthodontic Service in Colchester. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering specialised orthodontic care to children, under our NHS contract. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about orthodontics and committed to continuous learning and development within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive orthodontic assessments, including analysing medical imaging and dental records.
Utilise CAD software to design and plan orthodontic treatment procedures tailored to individual patient needs.
Apply anatomical knowledge to develop effective treatment plans and ensure precise appliance placement.
Assist in the fabrication of orthodontic appliances, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
Collaborate with dental practitioners and laboratory technicians to optimise treatment results.
Maintain detailed patient records, documenting progress and treatment modifications accurately.
Educate patients on orthodontic procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in orthodontic technology and techniques through ongoing professional development.

Requirements

Solid understanding of human anatomy relevant to dental and facial structures.
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques utilised within orthodontic diagnostics.
Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant qualifications in dental or orthodontic specialisation recognised within the UK.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to clinical standards.
