Job description:
As Mortgage Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the adviser and adminmteam, supporting performance, improving outcomes, and helping the business grow in a way that’s commercially sound and culturally strong.
You’ll have real autonomy in how you lead, coach and develop the team, with support from the founder on strategy and direction. This isn’t about micromanagement. It’s about trust, responsibility and delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading & Developing Advisers
- Coach and support both employed and self-employed advisers
- Run regular 1-to-1s, observations and performance reviews as needed
- Help advisers grow their income, confidence and capability
- Balance people leadership with clear expectations and accountability
Driving Sales Performance
- Improve conversion, consistency and adviser productivity
- Increase protection penetration
- Support improvements in average case values, with fairness around location
- Use MI and reporting to understand what’s working and where support is needed
Introducer & Relationship Growth
- Strengthen relationships with existing introducers (accountants, IFAs, estate agents)
- Develop new local introducer relationships that generate real business
- Work closely with the founder on how we position and grow these partnerships
Lender Relationships
- Build strong working relationships with lenders and BDMs
- Improve case outcomes, turnaround times and underwriting support
Supporting Growth
- Assist with adviser onboarding and development as the team grows
- Contribute ideas and insight to how the business evolves commercially
Who This Role Is Suited To
- CeMAP qualified, with solid mortgage advising experience
- Previous leadership or management experience within a brokerage or network
- Naturally people-led, but comfortable having honest performance conversations
- Commercially aware and confident working with numbers and KPIs
- Organised, consistent and able to follow things through
- Someone who enjoys building within a business, rather than owning one
You’ll likely have an entrepreneurial mindset, but value stability, collaboration and long-term growth over personal financial risk.
