We are looking to expand on our current groups of Cargo Operatives to meet the increasing demands within our busy 24/7 ro-ro terminal.
Within this challenging role, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and efficient operation is achieved for handling our customer’s cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment.
Your role
- Using port equipment (e.g. terminal tractors/cranes/fork lift trucks) for handling our customer’s cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment. Full training will be provided.
- To follow health and safety procedures as laid out by the port.
- Using our internal Freight Management System for locating cargo around the port.
- To assist in the mooring and unmooring of our ships.
Your profile
- An aptitude to driving.
- Able to work a rotational shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends.
- Pro-active approach to and knowledge of H&S.
- Team player able to work on their own initiative.
- Experience of port or warehouse operations ideally driving plant/machinery – although desirable this is not essential as training will be given.
