Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our small finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop finance skills, learn more about our business and contribute to a supportive team. The successful candidate will play a key part in providing financial & administration support to financial operations in the company.

This role is being offered as a development opportunity and may also suit someone looking for a part-time position. We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to build their finance experience, as well as those who already have relevant skills and are seeking a role that fits around other commitments.

Duties

Assist with processing invoices, receipts and expense claims in accordance with company policies
Support Senior Finance colleagues in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and accounts
Maintain accurate and organised financial records, including filing systems
Support the management of the team’s dedicated mailbox
Respond to queries from Internal & External stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
Collaborate with colleagues to understand purchasing needs to assist with the development of procurement strategies
Contribute to the improvement of financial procedures and the development of systems and processes

Skills

Proven organisational skills with high attention to detail
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures
Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and SharePoint
Experience using accountancy software, in particular Xero would be desirable
Strong numeracy skills and accuracy in data entry
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Previous experience in a finance or administrative role is advantageous, but not essential
Working towards a finance, business or administration qualification is preferrable but training for the right candidate can be offered

Pay: £14.84 per hour
