Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Driver (Class 2) specializing in multiple drops to join our logistics team. This role involves operating a commercial vehicle to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely and safe transportation. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of vehicle operation and safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on professional growth and operational excellence.

Duties

Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle for multiple drop deliveries across various locations.
Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and ensure punctuality.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status or delays.
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
Assist with warehouse activities including moving goods within the facility as needed.
Ensure proper handling of freight, including heavy haul, tanker loads, or other specialized cargo as required.

Qualifications

Valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving license with relevant experience in commercial driving.
Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery routes, or route driving involving multiple stops.
Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles; experience with manual transmission preferred.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, or yard jockey is advantageous.
Experience operating various vehicles such as box trucks, flatbeds, dump trucks, or heavy equipment is desirable.
Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch and clients.
Ability to load & unload freight safely and efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
Previous experience in logistics sectors such as freight, heavy haul, military transport, or school bus driving is beneficial.
Good physical condition to handle moving cargo and perform vehicle inspections regularly. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service in the transportation industry.
