Job Description: Integrative Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) for Synthesis Clinic, Reading
Reporting to:
Chief of Staff, Practice Manager and Medical Director, with administrative support from Integrative Nurse Mobile Network Coordinator
Salary: self-employed standard locum rates according to location, banding and experience; mileage additionally reimbursed as per HMRC guidance. Conversion to an employed position may be offered in the future to the right candidate if desired.
Weekly hours: 9am-5pm Monday and Wednesday minimum, Friday desirable if possible (2-3 days a week).
Place of work: on-site at Synthesis Clinic, Reading RG10 9XQ. The candidate must be prepared to travel to any new site that the clinic may relocate to within 45 minutes drive of Reading.

The candidate must have extensive nursing experience (ideally with significant acute or ICU exposure), be able to access and troubleshoot lines (PICCs, Portacath) and be proactive, well-organised and an excellent team player, as well as possessing a reassuring, calming and empathetic manner suitable for work with people impacted by cancer.
Job overview:
· Integrative oncology nursing, including subcutaneous injections, phlebotomy and IV infusions (this would include mistletoe therapy and vitamin injections and infusions as recommended or prescribed by Synthesis Clinic physicians) - clinical assessment, safe and effective service delivery and patient and HCP liaison
· Maintenance of clear and accurate records pertaining to the services above, using the electronic healthcare record (EHR)
· Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and discussions as appropriate (usual integrative oncology MDT is on Wednesdays 12-1:30pm but other MDT timings may be offered)
· Liaison with any other healthcare professionals necessary for the performance of above duties, including external and internal referrals
· Must be prepared to undergo additional online and on-site training for service provision and maintain their TeamNet training compliance records
Location for provision of services –
· On-site services for the majority of service provision but should be available to travel for home visits within 45- 60 min drive of the clinic if needed
· Additional time at pre-agreed locations run by Synthesis Clinic (where appropriate) with the main current site located at 6 Castle End Business Park, Castle End Road, Reading RG10 9XQ may be requested by mutual agreement.
· Training (online and on-site) and supplies (a laptop and access to the EHR, as well as emergency and assessment kit and supplies for phlebotomy and IV access) will be provided.
