Caretaker Cleaner Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for staff, visitors, residents, and users of the Martin Tyler Performance Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning duties, basic site caretaking, monitoring football pitch usage, and ensuring the facility operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close the Pavilion, 3G pitch and facilities as required.
- Ensure all internal lights & aircon are switched off, shutters all down, internal doors all locked
- and alarm is set on closure.
- Turn floodlights on and off as required for training sessions and matches.
- Turn on and off external lights both on the pavilion and the car park to ensure site safety.
- Monitor football club bookings and ensure teams start and finish matches/training sessions on
- time.
- Ensure football clubs and players are using the correct footwear suitable for the 3G pitch
- Respond professionally and courteously to residents, staff, contractors, visitors, and clubs.
- Daily cleaning of all toilets
- Daily sweeping/vacuuming & mopping of reception area and 1st corridor.
- Weekly sweeping/vacuuming, mopping and wiping table surfaces in the classroom.
- Weekly cleaning of the kitchen
- Weekly vacuuming of main office.
- Sweeping/vacuuming & mopping of changing rooms and changing room corridor before
- each match, currently Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
- Dusting the whole pavilion twice monthly.
- Empty bins both from the pavilion & 3G pitch and dispose of the waste in the appropriate
- main bins.
- Ensure the site is generally clean and tidy.
- Monitor the car park to ensure cars are parked in the correct bays and not blocking the
- emergency gates.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and electrical appliances are used safely and stored correctly
- Replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries where necessary.
- Report low stock to the Facility Manager
- Carry out routine inspections of both the pavilion & 3G pitch and report any issues.
Skills & Experience
- Previous caretaking or cleaning experience preferred.
- Good understanding of cleaning methods and health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to enforce site rules professionally and confidently.
