Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Ladies Hairdresser to join our dynamic team and work towards a Level 2 Hair Professional (Hairdressing) qualification.

Candidates are paid to go to college 1 day a week and work in the salon 3 to 4 days a week.

This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop essential skills in hairdressing, customer service, and salon management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about beauty and grooming, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional client experiences. This role provides comprehensive training and mentoring in a professional environment, with the chance to specialise in areas such as colour, styling, eyelash extensions, and makeup application.

Duties

Assisting senior stylists with hairdressing services including cutting, colouring, styling, and finishing
Gaining hands-on experience in colour application, blow-drying, and styling techniques
Providing excellent customer service by welcoming clients and ensuring their comfort throughout their visit
Managing front desk responsibilities such as appointment scheduling, client consultations, and maintaining the salon’s organisation
Supporting store management with daily operations to ensure smooth running of the salon
Mentoring from experienced professionals to develop technical skills and industry knowledge
Upselling additional services like eyelash extensions or makeup applications to enhance client satisfaction and revenue
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the salon environment
Participating in ongoing training sessions related to barbering, colour techniques, and new beauty treatments

Experience

No prior experience necessary; full training will be provided for all aspects of hairdressing and salon management
A keen interest in hairdressing, beauty treatments, and customer service is essential
Good communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members
Basic organisational skills for managing appointments and salon operations effectively
Previous experience in store management or retail can be beneficial but is not mandatory
