Senior Burger Chef / Smokehouse Chef

Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Salary: From £13 per hour (dependent on experience)

About Smoke&Bones

Smoke&Bones is an American-style smokehouse built on authentic low and slow BBQ traditions. We specialise in premium smoked meats, handcrafted burgers, and bold flavours, delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced, food-led environment. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Burger Chef / Smokehouse Chef to join our kitchen team and support the delivery of consistently high standards.

Role Overview

As a Senior Burger Chef / Smokehouse Chef at Smoke&Bones, you will play a key role in daily kitchen operations. You will be responsible for preparing and executing burgers and smoked meats to brand specification, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting smooth service during busy periods. This is a hands-on role suited to a chef who thrives in a high-volume kitchen and takes pride in consistency, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

● Prepare and cook burgers to Smoke&Bones specifications and portion

standards.

● Operate and manage smoker equipment for low and slow BBQ cooking.

● Prepare, cook, rest, and slice brisket and ribs to ensure quality and consistency.

● Maintain high standards of food presentation and portion control.

● Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety

regulations.

● Maintain clean, organised workstations and follow opening and closing

procedures.

● Support stock rotation (FIFO), labelling, and waste control.

● Work closely with the front-of-house to ensure efficient service flow.

● Support training and development of junior kitchen team members.

Candidate Requirements

● Proven experience as a Burger Chef, Grill Chef, Line Chef, or similar role in a

fast-paced kitchen.

● Hands-on experience with BBQ preparation, including smoking techniques and

meat handling.

● Strong understanding of brisket trimming, smoking, resting, and slicing

techniques.

● Food Safety Level 2 (Food Safety in Catering) - essential.

● Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and HACCP procedures.

● Ability to work effectively under pressure.

● Strong teamwork and communication skills.

● Passion for quality food and authentic American BBQ.
