Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laborer to join our roofing company . The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the roofer and general labour tasks on-site. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in various aspects of construction, in roofing, within a dynamic and safety-conscious environment.
Duties
- Assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs using hand tools and power tools
- Reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate work execution
- Operating welding equipment when necessary for fabrication or repair tasks
- Handling heavy lifting to move materials and equipment safely around the site
- Utilising masonry, plumbing, and carpentry skills as required for specialised tasks
- Cutting, shaping, and installing roofing materials in accordance with project specifications
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Assisting with site preparation, material delivery, and waste removal to support project progress
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in construction-related fields such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, or plumbing is preferred but not essential
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to roofing and construction sites
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks on-site
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Valid health and safety certification is an advantage but not mandatory
